azalea the shawl at 50% tuesday 10.03.2006

i spent about two hours last night hanging with g and her cousin betty. we had authentic homemade posole and trader joe's bonbons. also, we looked at various myspace pages and talked dirty.* in between bouts of howling laughter, i knitted.

as of today, the shawl is 768 stitches around and it takes me 23 minutes to knit a pattern round. i'm fast using up my first 880 yards of knitpicks' merino. i am not looking forward to balling up another 880, which takes me forever because i don't have a swift. may be g+betty can help. if i could tear them away from myspace.

The shawl is beautiful, but I don't know if I could stand repeats like that! Did you see the promo for the silly show that is going to be on about myspace? Like snakes on a plane, with sluts!

Send me your yarn and I'll ball it up for ya.

I do love the azalea pattern, it's a beautiful shawl. I can't wait to see it thursday at js. How much yarn in total will it use?

You're always welcome to use mine - I mean it. It's one of those huge wood swifts that's crazy fast and holds a ton of yarn.

I could even bring it to the coffee shop on Thursday, in exchange perhaps, for a breif tutorial on crochet kittycat making.

Which reminds me of a little story I thought you might enjoy:

We stopped at a gas station on the way back from Yosemite that had "I love Pussycats" written on the bathroom wall. But whoever wrote it must have run out of ink half-way through because "cats" was written in different colored ink.

;o)

See you on Thursday?

Absolutely beautiful!

It makes me want to knit a complicated shawl. Even after reading about your restarts!

Hi there ... I see you checked out my azalea shawl. I like yours, but don't you find a lot of the lace is lost when you fold over a circular shawl??

I'll watch for your finished product!
