off flight knitting wednesday 08.09.2006

as of 03 august 2006

that's the red sweater i cast on shortly before leaving for minnesota. i made decent progress despite the heat wave. i forgot about air conditioning. plus, i had help.

while waiting to watch wheel of fortune with grandpa, jg decided to help me knit. i held his hands for the first stitch and then he proceeded like a regular, albeit very slowly.

intense toe curling concentration

this is actually the second time jg has helped me knit. the first time, months ago, it took him nearly an hour to knit three stitches. steep learning curve. this time it only took him minutes to knit twelve.

mom watches on

jg's mom was impressed by jg's effort but concerned, even more so than i was. why? because she is the intended recipient. yes, someone who actually wants to wear my sweater. yay!

you won't undo my stitches, will you?

I would wear your sweater, even with jg's stitches

You have one lucky mother-in-law!

I love that sweater so very much --- and I love that you got your man to try knitting. I can get mine to hold the yarn but that's about as far as he'll go with it.

As for the doggie... I adopted my dog from the local animal shelter and I could not recommend it more. Dogs are a big responsibility and a lot of work - but totally worth it. She makes me smile and laugh out lould every single day. It breaks my heart to think that there are so many other dogs like her out there needing to be rescued. I hope you find one that can give you the same joy I have had with my Emma dog. Emma also plays well with other dogs big and small and she would love to go for a romp at the dog park or the beach with your new pup when you get one - and I hope you do!!!!

Oh joy! I can't get my better half to do anything crafty.
