my very first knitting buddy has a blog!
yay, erin!

...

also, the aran sweater knit along is on! i had no idea that i would out so many knitters with their closeted aran tendencies!

here are the lovely participants:
      1. chauntel
      2. erin
      3. holly
      4. me, and
      5. you!

the rules are simple:
      1. choose the aran sweater pattern of your choice. by aran i mean fancy
cables and stitches. it could be a guernsey, gansey, fishermen's, etc.
      2. get the required yardage of yarn. let's aim to use up the yarn in our
          stashes instead of buying more.
      3. make a gauge swatch. if your pattern is knit in the round, you could make
          a beanie sampler.
      4. last but most importantly, join us! leave me a comment* with your name
and a bit about your project. you are not required to have a blog.
i would be more than happy to post your progress on schmeebot.

you can get knitting as early as you like. let's aim for the first of february as the latest start date on this knit along.

i am super excited! this knit along is going to bond us forever!

Hey Thuy - this is donny from Atlanta. I signed your guest book last week. I'm working on an aran blanket that I started several months ago - its my "I'll work on this when I dont have anything else to work on" project. Ive got about 12" done - and its about 48" wide... Ill take a photo and sent it to you - its really pretty - but takes forever. Plus you constantly have to count and think.... which makes it a little less relaxing than a simpler pattern, but I think the results are worth it. How should I send you the digital shot?? ... hey ladies... get your men knitting!

Okay. All right!! I will join the Aranalong. My pattern isn't quite Aran but it's filled with cables. I think by the time Feb 1 roles around, I will be ready to start it. :)

I want to play! :) I had in mind the cable hooded jacket in Debbie Bliss' Cotton Knits for all Seasons. It's beautiful and I'd always wanted to make it, so now's my chance to have support along the way. Yay!

1. I would love to do the aran knit along - my DH actually asked for one. I have yarn (traditional aran) in my stash that my mom sent me when she realized she didn't want to do anymore aran sweaters. I think I have a pattern in the Alice Starmore book - now I just need a swatch.

2. How come I have not seen your blog before . I love the bunny, I love how you put up your patterns, will you be my friend too?
