i went over to scrap looking for binders and came home with a loot of yarn. the stuff outside of the bag is 50/50 wool/mohair from brooks farm yarn. the label says 4 ounce and $17. inside the bag: a ball of woolease, a hank of lace weight wool, two hanks of handspun, a ball of lopi, six balls of superwashed wool, and a skein of old bruinswick wool yarn.
all the binders turned out to be free. i got a dozen, eight of which are brand new. not a bad day for scrap.
