i carry that bag with me at all times. it holds all the yarn i've spun to date.

all together, 25 hanks. i am ready to cast on for a hodge podge sweater.

the hodge podging has begun tuesday 05.16.2006

putting the handspun stuff to use

a sweater, i think, starting at the chest with open cast on as usual. 4.5 stitches per inch, 150 stitches on us9 needles. i'll try for a picture of the right side once it gets a little longer and stops curling. let's see how far i get on this one before i start up another.

hodge podge progess report:

40% done

moving along like a grass fire. i'm not sure about the unorthodox decrease job but i'm loving the circus colors. while i'm at it, i might as well fess up about the zimmermann fair isle yoke sweater.

is it at 50% yet?

moving like molasses on ice at 6.5 stitches to the inch on us3 needles. urgh.

that's jg goofing around with the roving i dyed some weeks ago. don't let his drugged out eyes fool you; he knows exactly what to do with those rastafarian dreads.

niddy noddies wednesday 05.31.2006

18" vs 9"

i made those thingamajigs sunday. i saw the tutorial a while back but just never made a priority to go to the hardware store. as jg made frequent trips to ace do it (to) yourself center this past weekend, i went along for the supplies:

1/2" standard pvc pipes: 21 cents per foot
5/8" extra thick o rings: 83 cents each
        t joints: $2.23 each
a pvc pipe cutter: ten bucks

pretty simple project. all i need now is some sticky velcro to fasten the yarn's end to the noddy.

would you like some noddies in your vanity shot?
