last week i had an in office meeting with sal, the architect on one of my projects. he graciously brought me eight avocados, freshly picked from his very own garden. he also brought me two of these curious looking fruit.

cherimoya, i hadn't seen it since i left vietnam. i've been fondling this one everyday, waiting for it to ripen. is ripen a word? anyway, aren't the scales lovely?
that's my darnest effort in hitting nicole back for the excellent compilation she sent me. i'm hoping the colorful sleeve will distract her from noticing my lousy taste in music.
i crossed the parking lot over to scarab graphics this morning to order some vellum. the gentleman who took my order had that poster on his wall, except smaller. i commented that it was the coolest trekky poster if i ever saw one.
half an hour later, he crossed the parking lot to bring me my very own borg menace. he went and plotted it just for me. the ink was still tacky when i received it.
that's a tagged bird's nest above my window. today there is a pair of birds that took turns flying in and out of it. they'd perch on my window mullion before flying up to the nest. when i opened the door to take a picture, i spooked them off.
they came back as soon as i went inside. they were cautious; one perched on the sycamore while the other checked out my door at length. here it is, looking like it's ready to take me on should i dare step out again.
