that's an untouched scan of a tiny print my mom made some 42 years ago. h+d are two of my five brothers, a set of identical twins, the wittiest people i know on this green earth. anyway, the brothas turn 44 today. sadly, they no longer dress alike. but i think they are still just as handsome.

thanks to my handsome webmaster, the apads are no longer scattered among all the other nonsense. the page works but it still needs a lot of massaging. only if schmeebot would load faster.
princess cake from schubert's (clement street, sf)
i bought two of those last monday, one for me, one for jg. neither of us could finish our slice. looks a bit better than the one from ikea but tastes just the same. i hear copenhagen bakery makes a pretty delicious version of this cake. i will have to hunt it down the next time i'm in the bay area. thanks, caro!
have a great weekend, everyone. and don't forget to have some cake!
i took those last saturday at linda mar. i spent over an hour playing photographer while kev, beeze, and jg surfed. i was using kev's minolta which has the sweetest 10x optical zoom. unfortunately, the gray sky and the distant subjects totally jacked up the autofocus.
i did get a handful decent shots along with a few short movie clips. there weren't many good waves so a lot of the images were of them floating, aka board meeting. kev+beeze want me to be their official surfographer. i'd be happy to do it. for a small fee.
my ten day interstate road trip begins tomorrow. while i am a bit leery of jg's itinerary, i am very excited to leave all of schmeebot in the creative hands of guest bloggers. it's time this little brown blog gets a fresh outlook!
i can't wait to see it from a reader's perspective. stay tuned, everyone!
one of the things i enjoy on schmeebot are the walks. Walks through the neighborhood, shopping, ambling, whatever.
today i walked home from work along the path i normally bike. I set out with a purpose: to give a schmeebot style tour of my way home. Pretty soon, though, amidst the flowers, houses, former workplaces and such, i ended up with signs.

official markings?
just yield to it, whatever 'it' is
and no schmeebot walk would be complete without this :
Guest blogger dogie here, filling in for that lazy little miss messy hair who was supposed to post something today. Women, i tell you, you cannot trust them.
Anyways, that messy haired chick came alone with THE ONE and me today on a walk in the hills. Oh, THE ONE! He is the master of all that is good, and me too.
THE ONE
And if that messy haired chick thinks that he is hers, well, she has another thing coming, because he is MINE, all mine!
So, where was i? Oh yeah, the trail. Oh the trail, all the smells of the trail, let me tell you, you really need to get out and smell some new trees every so often, you know what i mean? Sure, the city trees have a lot more messages on them, but the trees in the hills are what it's about, yessirreebob.
the trail!!
Now the messy haired chick keeps up quite a pace. Geez, does she not realize i'm getting old? I have to keep up with her, of course, because i'm a cattle dog and, well, herding is what i do. I may not like her, but i can't have her getting too far from THE ONE, that just wouldn't be right.
-* the messy haired chick (now how could i respect these nearly-hairless legs?)
If you can get past the messy haired one, you'll see some great views, if you are into that kind of thing.
i bet there are some great smells over there
These hikes give me plenty of quality time with THE ONE.
THE ONE pats me on the head.
Oh, now these grasses are great lickin' grasses. You can get a taste of every creature that has stopped by for weeks. Oh wow, you have to lick these grasses if you see them, every single time. Yeah, these are great licking grasses. Try'em sometime.
mmm... tasty AND informational!
Well, it's been fun, but i've got some smells over in these bushes to explore, and you know how it is, i just have to go over in these bushes, and then maybe down that hill ... oh wait ... what's that tree over there?
